5 reasons to join a mastermind

Along my journey, I have taken part in several masterminds. I've fallen in love with this format!

When I think back to these groups, where I was at that moment in life, the people in the room and the insight I gained, I instantly want to transport back to that time and soak it all up again 💞.

That is my hope for the reFrame Mastermind - to create an impactful and memorable experience for every woman involved.

Upon reflection, five key elements made these masterminds special to me.

1. Masterminds provided scheduled time for myself regularly.

Like most women, I have many responsibilities and choices that need attention daily. Often, my needs were last on the list, which had me in a spot where I was running on fumes, teetering on the edge of burnout. A subtle shift happened when I committed to showing up for myself and a group of women. The time spent in conversations felt incredibly nourishing and reminded me that making time for activities that fill my soul is vital to my happiness.

2. Masterminds offered an incredibly intimate space to challenge my perspectives and gain new insights.

It's never easy challenging our ingrained perspectives or beliefs—tough stuff. What I found surprising was that talking out my situation and being open to other insights grew my capacity to see life differently. For example, I remember sharing with my Mastermind that I often spun my wheels and showed up online but didn't feel seen. Through discussion, the group challenged me - I was the only person who really needed to see me. Although hard to start with, that dose of reality was what I needed.

3. Masterminds built a trusted network of people.

Building the ability to trust others has been a long(and ongoing) journey for me. We can all remember when we trusted someone, and they stabbed us in the back. High school mean girls, am I right? I recognize how those formative experiences have had an impact on my life. Learning to trust others and be a trusted person is a skill that I've improved with practice. Through masterminds, I have fostered some of the deepest relationships I've ever had.  I'm grateful for that every damn day!

4. Masterminds held me accountable for taking action towards a goal that was important to me while also encouraging me.

Honestly, I can be a dreamer sometimes, and shiny object syndrome happens frequently. With that, I have learnt that I do better when I focus on one idea at a time. Masterminds offered me the accountability to get a project/goal across the finish line. That looked like this - questions about what I was struggling with and how people could help. The offering of support while being realistic about what the struggles were always felt encouraging and spurred me to take the next step.

5. Masterminds reflected the wisdom I had gained in my challenging moments, and I saw that insight helped others.

When navigating life, I forget how far I've come and sometimes what wisdom I've gained. I have had some significant bumps and bruises in the past few years, but I have gained some powerful insights. Sharing those insights with other women has become a passion of mine and, in a mastermind format, allows me(and everyone else) to share in the lesson.

As Moira says, Won't you join me? I promise, no black pleather outfit will be worn by me 🤣.
